School update 2-6 Mar

Dylan was absent on monday and tuesday because he was down with diarrhoea and fever. Maybe that is why there is no picture of dylan in the newsletter.

The children learned colour, we introduced ‘yellow’ to the children. They were given yellow objects to play with. To reinforce the concept, the children were given yellow banana to taste. When they saw the banana, some children tried to echo ‘yellow banana’.

This week’s letter sound is ‘z’ as in zipper. The children were given the Montessori material ‘zipper dressing frame’. Although they couldn’t zip, they tried their best. Well done children!

A part of practical life skill is learning to walk on a straight line. It may seem a very simple task, but to a ‘wobbling’ child, it is a very difficult task. It is heartening to see the children trying their best to walk on the line.

The theme for this month is ‘flower’. The children went for a nature walk to admire the flowers along the ‘park’. We also brought different types of flowers for the children to observe. Most of them were able to repeat the name of the flowers after the teacher.
