The children were taught the shape circle and the geometric solid cylinder. They were given the circle and cylinder to explore and were instructed to match the circle to the base of the cylinder.

Sandpaper letter ‘m’ is given to the children to feel and trace. Letter sound ‘m’ as in macaroni, mother, mango, The children had macaroni soup for lunch on Thursday and as a reinforcement activity they glued the macaroni pieces on the letter ‘m’.

We learned the five organs in Chinese.

We have started making Chinese New Year Crafts! This week we colored a fish and pasted some shapes cut out from “Ang Pow” paper. “Yu” in Chinese means “fish”, which sounds the same as “abundance”. Hence, the wishing term “Nian Nian You Yu” means “May you be blessed with abundance year after year!”

On Wednesday, we learned about how we should take care of our teeth. We also learned to sing a new song! (Sing to the tune of “If You’re Happy”)

We learn how to brush our teeth and the causes of tooth decay.

This week we learnt that koalas live in Australia. Most of the children were able to identify this cute and cuddly animal. Besides coloring the picture of a koala, the children are also in the process of making a “Koala mask”.

In the process, children learnt that most koalas are grey, and they can get the color grey when they mix black and white together.
