The children were taught the geometric shape cube. A square was shown to the children, then the teacher took some square and glued them together to form a cube and the children realized that a cube is made up of six squares. The children were given a cube and was encouraged to feel it and at the same time, counted the number of sides on the cube. To reinforce the lesson, the children were given a cube of ice each to hold and they were thrilled to see the ice turned into water.

Letter sound ‘o’ as in orange, pumpkin, ox, otter, ostrich and octopus were taught to the children. The children were shown a video clip from YouTube showing how an ostrich looked like and how it escaped from danger. The children were engrossed when the video clip was played to them. They were also told that the ostrich is the biggest flightless bird on land.

Cultural:
During the cultural activity time, the children were shown a picture of a Leopard. They were told to look at the spots on its body. The children were taught that the leopard lives in the plain of Africa and is a meat eater.

This week the children learnt the names of some fruits. Each of them had the chance to taste various fruits such as blueberries, grapes, apple, orange, banana and pear. A big thank you to parents who brought some fruits to share with the class!

This week is Dylan's last week at MMI, he will start school at PAP on the first of march. Hope he can adapt to the new environment.
