School update 11-14 Aug

Presenting August birthday girl - Amanda Koh. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Koh for the yummy cake and panda biscuits!

For language lesson, we showed the children two glass jars. One filled with water till full and another empty. We emphasized the word full (with water) and empty respectively to the children.

We introduced the sandpaper 7 for this week’s lesson. Most of the children were able to say the number 7. Some were also able to count in the correct sequence from 1 to 7. Good Job!

The children were fascinated when Ms Yana showed them the globe. Ms Yana explained that the world is round and is covered by oceans and lands. We allow the children to explore by letting them touch and feel the globe and highlighted to them that the smooth area is the ocean and the rough area is the land.

As a follow up lesson, the children observe a pouring lesson presented by Ms Yana.

Stages from proper way of handling the jar to pouring the water.

Both jars are of the same size during the demonstration.

After which, the children were given the opportunity to experience pouring water into the jar, with teacher’s guidance.
