This art and craft work took two weeks to complete.
Each child was given the opportunity to explore with recycled items such as empty boxes and toilet rolls.
The teacher showed them the toy car and helped to describe the parts such as body frame, wheels, windows and etc.
The teacher guided them to pick the items and glued them together to look like a car. This hands-on activity is called modeling. Glad to hear the children say ‘It’s a car!’ after completed the art work.
Practical life exercises are designed to teach children life skills. They help our toddlers develop their intelligence and responsible contact with his/her surroundings.
This week the teacher introduced an activity of opening and closing of boxes with three different sizes, for example the toothpaste box. It seems easy for us adults to open and close, however for these young kids it’s a challenging task. It is heartening to see that they are trying hard and focused.
