School update 24-28 Aug

This week's language lesson is fun filled with tasting, again. We introduced letter y to children such as yogurt, yam, yoyo, yes and etc.. Ms yana brought two yogurts One mango flavoured and another original. The children were eager to try. They were excited and brave enough to taste the new food. Perhaps mummy can start giving them yogurt as part of a healthy snack. This week we introduced sandpaper 8 to the children. Each of them were able to say the number 8 correctly. Well done PG!

This week the children had the opportunity to explore marble rolling where they move the tray left and right so that the marbles run on the cartridge paper to form some lined patterns.

The teacher assist them by moving their little hands to move the tray. This is an activity of eye and hand coordination.

Mum and Dad, let's check out if your if your little darlings enjoyed the activity.

Ang mo kio hub

I forgot what's the shop name, it is located outside ang mo kio hub, just beside the taxi stand, famous for its baked potato. Came here two times with moo, she loves the potatoes.

My ru wei noodle and her baked potato

I ordered teh-c but the waitress brought me kopi-c instead

The above is what we tried last time when we came here for a little shopping and meet up. This time round we tried other food.

My teh-c and her baked potato, I like the drinks here, pretty well made

Her duck meat salad, the duck meat is so little, you can't even see it from the picture

Ru wei fan, consists of 2 chicken mid-wings, beancurd, egg, its quite nice actually, but the dishes are too little to go with that big plate of rice

Moo got her first month pay finally, and we are here to do shopping. I didn't manage to buy anything except for a pair of shoes at $10. She bought a handbag, a top, and a belt. I like doing shopping at heartland malls, you can find cheaper things here. Hee!

School update 17-21 Aug

This week’s language lesson is fun filled with tasting of sweet and sour fruit. We introduced letter sound ‘s’ to children such as sun, strawberry, starfruit, cereal honeystar, sweetcorn and etc.

The children had the opportunity to see, touch and taste some fruits such as strawberry and starfruit. They were very excited and readily tasted the fruit offered to them.

As an introduction to this lesson, the children sang the song twinkle twinkle little star. The teacher showed them the star shape. All of them were able to identify and say ‘star’ loudly! The children did star printing as a follow-up activity.

Some children liked the sour taste and asked for more especially the Strawberry. Kudos to them! Thank you Caden, Caleb and Wee Ren’s mum for contributing the fruits.

School update 11-14 Aug

Presenting August birthday girl - Amanda Koh. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Koh for the yummy cake and panda biscuits!

For language lesson, we showed the children two glass jars. One filled with water till full and another empty. We emphasized the word full (with water) and empty respectively to the children.

We introduced the sandpaper 7 for this week’s lesson. Most of the children were able to say the number 7. Some were also able to count in the correct sequence from 1 to 7. Good Job!

The children were fascinated when Ms Yana showed them the globe. Ms Yana explained that the world is round and is covered by oceans and lands. We allow the children to explore by letting them touch and feel the globe and highlighted to them that the smooth area is the ocean and the rough area is the land.

As a follow up lesson, the children observe a pouring lesson presented by Ms Yana.

Stages from proper way of handling the jar to pouring the water.

Both jars are of the same size during the demonstration.

After which, the children were given the opportunity to experience pouring water into the jar, with teacher’s guidance.

Suki yuki

I got jealous when I heard boy's gonna have lunch with celestine and liz in town, and when I suggested to take a half day leave so that I can join them for lunch, boy's reaction was: "tao nao pai ah!". When he finally did call and asked me to go together, I was so happy. And indeed, I applied a half day to go for lunch at suki yuki or yuki suki or whatever you call it, at cineleisure. So far, I still think nihon mura at downtown east serve the best ala carte buffet for japanese food.

Boy came to join us when he was done with some computer work at derrick's work place

We ate a good 3 hours +++ that last us till the next day

Table tennis

We are currently hooked on table tennis, playing whenever we can, usually at night
